The White Mountain School

  • Founded: 1886
  • Address: 371 West Farm Road, Bethlehem - New Hampshire, United States (Map)
  • Tel: Show Number

Perfectly situated on the edge of the White Mountain National Forest less than 20 miles west of Mount Washington, The White Mountain School campus offers its students not only a spectacular access point to much of Northern New Hampshire, but also the opportunity to immerse oneself in a strong college preparatory curriculum through a wide variety of course offerings.

We believe in an academic culture driven by student inquiry. We specifically allow our teachers to provide time and space for students to pursue topics of their interest.

We believe in our unique sport and co-curricular offerings where all participants receive equal time to explore their skills. We believe in our intentionally small size of 140 students. We believe in our school-wide Field Course and LASR programs. We believe in teaching our students not only the fundamentals of a rigorous college preparatory education, but also the intricacies and nuances of how to live your best life through inquiry and engagement.

Design your Virtual Visit

At White Mountain, there are three things that make this community and school so compelling for our students: our people, our program, and our place. These days, with our campus being closed due to the current Coronavirus pandemic, we are unable to invite you see us in person. Our academic and residential buildings, our beautiful open spaces, and our view of Mount Washington that can be seen on a clear day are, unfortunately, off-limits for now.

What remains, though, are our people and our program. The faculty, administration, students, and parents that make up our vibrant community are immersed in an engaging and vibrant remote learning experience that continues to prioritize the curiosity, courage, and compassion that we all so deeply value.

We are excited to offer you the opportunity to engage with us through a remote White Mountain Experience. Because you know yourself and your student best, we aim to provide you with an experience that is just right for you - tailored to your questions, your passions, and your needs every step of the way.

  • Meet with White Mountain School teachers, coaches, and administrators that align with your interests and passions, and explore how you might engage with them here.
  • Chat with a current student, parent, or recent alum. Learn about their experiences at White Mountain and get answers to all of your questions.
  • Sit in on a synchronous class in real time, and experience how White Mountain is transforming the ways that we teach and learn in this time of remote learning.
