Admission Steps

Would you like to speak to a current CDL parent? If you would like to speak to the parents of a child of a similar age to your own that is already attending our school, we would be delighted to arrange this for you.

The enquiry step of the admissions process can take as long as you want depending on your needs. If you are unsure about a relocation, or not sure if you are ready to start boarding we are still available to you to provide any information you might need.

If you need to move quickly, we recommend going directly to Step 2 and use the Fast Track Application. There is no commitment when applying and the extra information allows us quickly assess the availability of a place.

Application

The application step allows us to assess each student for a place:

• CHF 500 non-refundable application fee per student. You can pay online here. You would like to pay the application fee for: Pay for 1 child, Pay for 2 children, Pay for 3 children, Pay for 4 children, Pay for 5 children.
• 1 to 5 weeks to finalise the application file depending on how quickly you can submit the information we need.
• Completing and submitting an application form is not a commitment to a place by either party.

We require the following to be completed:

• Online Application Form (or paper form here).
• Confidential Report: This is a form that needs to be completed by the student's current school and you will need to send them the link (or paper form here).
• For boarding only a video questionnaire.

An important tip: You can start the application step without all the paperwork to hand and without paying the application fee. Submitting early information allows us to better advise you. Note though, that we cannot proceed to the Acceptance step below until the application fee is paid and all requested documents are submitted.

To fully complete the application form you will need:

• A scanned passport photo of each student.
• Scans of both parent and students passports.
• Prior 1-2 years of academic transcripts (the number required depends on grade and is confirmed in the form).
• A copy of any psychoeducational assessments for those students with learning support needs.

We may ask for students to be tested in English before accepting their application, so that we can gauge which classes suit them best. Students who may not yet be comfortable in English will be able to join English as a Second Language (EAL) classes before entering the mainstream. These tests can be taken online if necessary. An English placement test is required for all Middle and High School students.

Acceptance

When we have a fully completed Application, our academic and pastoral staff meet to review and assess the file as well as the availability of an appropriate place and of any support services that might be required (for example language skills or learning support needs).

This step in the admissions process takes 5 working days.

Successful applicants will then receive a letter offering them a place at Collège du Léman.

Enrollment

After we offer a place, we begin the process of formally enroling each child. This step usually takes 5-10 working days - the duration is dependent on how fast a family wishes to proceed:

• We will provide log-in details to our e-roll, electronic enrolment system.
• In the system you will be asked to confirm agreement to the Tuition Summary which contains the services you are enroling for and associated fees.
• This is a binding contract.

When the electronic enrolment is finalised:

• Finance will release the appropriate invoices.
• Closer to the start date our Admissions team will send you a Welcome Pack.

A place is not guaranteed until the following due items are paid within 14 days of the invoice date:

• A non-refundable joining fee: CHF 3,800 for Day or CHF 4,800 for Boarding.
• A refundable deposit: CHF 600 for Day or CHF 6,000 for Boarding.
• An advance on the coming year's fees: CHF 2,500 for Day or CHF 33,000 for Primary Boarding or CHF 34,400 for Secondary Boarding.

Once this is completed, we will look forward to welcoming you at school on your start date, and our team will share all the necessary information to help each child prepare for a fantastic start to their life at Collège du Léman.
