St Kilian's German School

If you are interested in enrolling your child at St. Kilian’s and you would like to talk to someone regarding admission into our Primary or Secondary School, please do not hesitate to contact the School & Admissions Secretary, Jacinta Kane on secretary@kilians.com or by phone +353 (0)1 2883323.

St. Kilian’s admits pupils in accordance with its ethos and the regulations of the Department of Education and Skills concerning age and previous schooling. In general, parents are advised to apply for admission as early as possible as there is always a very strong demand for places. Pupils entering Kindergarten (Junior Infants) must be 4 years of age.

Pupils may enter St. Kilian’s at levels other than Junior Infants (Kindergarten) or 1st Year (7th class); however, entry into classes 8, 9, 11 and 12 is predicated on prior knowledge of German, equivalent to the level of those classes. Pupils may enter 10th class without German if numbers permit the establishment of a beginners’ class in any given year.

We also have an annual Open Day in October during which you can view the school and meet teachers and students. Please see our school calendar for the date.

Apply

If you are interested in enrolling your child at St. Kilian’s, please complete the waiting list form and return it to the school, for the attention of the School Secretary, together with proof of payment of the waiting list fee of €90. This can be paid through our online payment system.

For Primary School, places are offered during October the year before a child is due to start.

For Secondary School, a pre-enrolment form and the latest school reports will be requested a year before the child is due to start at St. Kilian’s and offers will be made by the end of that October.

If applications exceed number of places available, the criteria set out in our Admissions Policies will be applied.

Family RebateWe offer families with more than one child attending the school a family rebate at the following rates:

  • Families with two children in the school, 10% fee rebate applies
  • Families with three children in the school, 12.5% fee rebate applies
  • For families with four or more children, 15% fee rebate applies
