Applying To Tasis

TASIS offers programs for qualified students aged 3–19, including bilingual instruction for students in grades 1–9, English as an Additional Language (EAL) courses, the Advanced Placement (AP) program, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. All students work toward receiving an American high school diploma while many also pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma. We encourage families to visit the school or meet with a TASIS representative during one of our off-campus visits. The School awards financial aid on the basis of need and merit. TASIS is accredited by the New England Association of Schools & Colleges and the European Council of International Schools.

You may apply using our Middle and High Schooled application (available above). Please remember to read carefully and complete all required pieces of the application.

What you will need

  • Application
    All sections completed and signed.
  • Copy of Passport
    A copy of the student’s passport page(s), indicating name, date of birth, and other vital information. The student’s passport needs to be valid for at least six months after entering the school.
  • Passport-sized photograph
    Please upload a passport-style photograph or past school portrait of your child. If you don’t have one, feel free to take one with your smartphone. Photos should be only of your child and against a neutral background (white or other light color preferred).
  • Transcripts
    A transcript of the student’s school records for the past three years (including current year) and any grade reports. Upon acceptance, TASIS will require certified transcripts from each school attended in the last three years to be sent by mail, including an official English translation, if necessary, and the grading scale with specific details about the minimum passing mark.
  • Teacher Recommendations
    Three teacher recommendations from the student’s present school, preferably from the principal, head teacher, or counsellor, and teachers of English and Math. Recommendation forms are included in the application packet.

  • English Proficiency Test (for non-native English speakers)
    The TASIS EAL Writing Proficiency Test and the Cambridge English Proficiency Test (CEPT) orthel/TOEFL Jr/IELTS are required if English is not the candidate’s native language. Please contact the Admissions Office regarding the administration of these tests.
  • Standardized Tests
    Current standardized test results, if available.
  • International Baccalaureate Application
    The International Baccalaureate Supplementary Application must be completed by candidates applying to 11th grade who wish to pursue the IB Diploma. Please visit our IB page for more information.
  • Application Fee
    A non-refundable application fee of CHF 300.
