Grade Placement

PYP: All new EYU and Elementary students are placed in the year level corresponding to their date of birth (on 31st December of the year of entry).

MYP: All new MYP students are normally placed in the appropriate year level according to their date of birth. The school also takes into consideration the student’s previous educational experience.

DP: Students can apply for the first year of the two-year Diploma Programme if they have completed at least 10 years of education with passing marks. Students previously attending Italian high schools may have also completed 11 years of education in the 13-year educational system.

Language Assessment

  • Students applying for admission to the PYP are not required to have a minimum level of English, though knowledge of the language is preferable.
  • Admitted PYP students who are not native English speakers, who have not previously attended an international school or whose language skills are evaluated to not be in line with the expectations of the class level will obligatorily take part in the English Language Support service.
  • Prospective students for MYP1-2-3 must take an English entrance test, which allows the school to ascertain whether the student has a sufficient level of English to successfully take part in the MYP. If the student requires additional support in the transition to an educational environment that is conducted fully in English, Language Support will be activated.
  • The fee for Language Support is €2.500 for the entire academic year in PYP and MYP1-3. If the Support is necessary for a second school year, the fee is €2.000.

Special education needs

Through its Pedagogical Department, the school can assist students with learning difficulties. In order to understand whether the school is able to provide adequate support, we always require that parents provide us with all the information they have from the first meeting. In some cases, it may be necessary to pay an additional fee to provide extra support in class or outside of class with the presence of a dedicated teacher.
