Registration Process

Procedure

We ask you to fill out the request form for each child and send it to us by email, for pupils with the last certificate.

After an initial check, you will receive a preliminary confirmation by email. If there are still questions, an appointment is made with the school management or the kindergarten management.

After confirmation by email, we ask you to pay the registration fee by bank transfer and send us the following documents:

  • The instructions of the bus driver and the bus attendant must be followed.
  • Students do not give instructions to bus drivers.
  • The bus drivers must not deviate from their route in order to shop at a petrol station, as insurance coverage is then not guaranteed.
  • It is forbidden to put your feet on the seats.
  • All students fasten their seat belts and stay seated while driving. They are not allowed to lean out of the window.
  • Personnel and classmates must not be insulted.
  • No objects may be thrown inside or out of the bus.
  • Eating and drinking (except water) are not allowed on the bus.
  • The students collect their rubbish. Students who do not abide by the rules can be excluded from using the bus.

Kindergarden

Entry to kindergarten is possible all year round, provided there are free places. Children who are not proficient in the German language can only be accepted in a limited number. You must not be older than 3 years.

If we do not have enough free places at the time of your desired admission date, we will put your registration on a waiting list. An admission committee decides on the allocation of free places. The parents will be informed in writing of the date of admission. Attending kindergarten alone does not entitle you to admission to school.

Preschool

If you are five years old, you can also join the preschool in consultation with the kindergarten management (trial period six weeks). For these children, a school-leaving test and a language test can be carried out in the second half of the kindergarten to determine school ability. If these children do not start school, they will repeat the preschool.

Primary School

The majority of children who attend our primary school grow from the school's own kindergarten into primary school. Basically there is the possibility of a side entry.

Secondary Level

Admission to the DISS can only take place at the beginning or half of the school year. For students who come from Germany or who want to switch to us from another German school abroad, the completeness of the documents is sufficient, above all proof of the previously completed and seamless school career. For students who have completed another school career so far, there can be an assessment test in mathematics, German and English. These results are the basis for admission to the DSB. If a class level does not allow new admissions due to the exhausted class size, there is the option of a waiting list or advice on a temporary solution as an alternative.

G-IB

Students who attend another IB school can be admitted to grades 11 and 12 throughout the school year. If no mixed language IB school (German / English) has been attended, a language test for English and / or German must be carried out. As a rule, there is a conversation with the IB manager.

Students from the German or comparable school systems can only be admitted to the 11th class. With a high school diploma, admission can take place directly. For the admission with a real qualification, a certain grade point average should be achieved. It is currently 3.0. An exemption from the grade point average can be done by a test and a conversation with the IB director and the school management.

Students from other school systems can also only be admitted to 11th grade. A conversation with the IB director and the school management is mandatory for admission.
