The Lakes Christian College

The Lakes Christian College is an independent school nestled in a peaceful, rural environment at Castlereagh, north of Penrith.

Located in the picturesque Penrith Valley, The Lakes Christian College, Castlereagh, is a Prep to Year 12 co-educational Christian school that was established with the purpose of educating, nurturing and discipling young people to be all they were created to be.

The College is a place where each student is known by name and has the opportunity to learn in a peaceful, safe and nurturing environment.

The College staff are a group of committed Christian professionals who are active in building positive relationships and delivering high quality teaching.

The College has a strong evangelical ethos grounded in Christian values. It believes that the values taught and modelled to students are of great importance in developing young people of outstanding character. Our vision is to work as partners with parents to know and nurture children. All children are unique and valuable, and have gifts and abilities given by God that we desire to see discovered and developed to full potential.

The aim of The Lakes Christian College is to encourage all students to develop their God-given gifts and talents as they pursue excellence in all areas of their lives: academically, physically, spiritually and socially. Students are provided with opportunities designed to challenge them to strive to reach their full potential, enabling them to select from a range of choices when they move on to their next level of education, their career or other life opportunities.​

Every day is an open day at the College. Families are invited to visit our peaceful bushland setting to have a tour of the school and experience the educational opportunities on offer.

School is an assumed part of our modern Australian way of life. Parents often take school for granted. Consequently, many parents are surprised when they first take their children to school. They discover their chosen school operates on some assumptions which are not compatible with the way they are raising their children.

Schools always have a purpose. Sometimes this is written and sometimes not. Some schools have the purpose of getting children a good job. Some want to teach children to read and write. The Lakes Christian College provides an education which is compliant with all of the rigours of NSW Board of Studies and Australian Curriculum requirements, and is also immersed in foundational Christian truth.

The Lakes Christian College is staffed by committed, active Christians in all areas of the College from teaching through to administration. It is our goal to teach a curriculum which is consistent with Christian biblical truth and also introduce practices to children which honour God. This is done through a daily routine of commencing the day with prayer, holding regular chapel services and the teaching of Christian Studies to students of all year levels.​
