Community is at the heart of the boarding experience at Beau Soleil with each of our five boarding houses providing a warm, welcoming and friendly environment for our boarders.
For our students who come from more than 50 different nationalities, the boarding house is a student’s home from home during term time where they make friends from around the world and share the discovery of new cultures and languages.
Our experienced boarding staff are on hand 24/7 to oversee the smooth running of student life, supporting students as they learn and grow through the Beau Soleil experience.

We know that in order to be successful in their academic life students need to be happy and relaxed. We take great care to ensure that our boarding houses offer a home from home boarding experience where friendships form that last a lifetime.
An afternoon spent making a cake to share with friends, the tradition of weekly pancake nights, hot chocolate on a winters evening, or regular house BBQ's give our boarders a home-style environment.
Comfortable shared rooms encourage connection between borders and offer a space in which they can relax and study. Most boarding rooms are equipped with en-suite bathroom facilities.
Typical day
At Beau Soleil, the rhythm of life is built around the academic day which lasts from 8:30 am until 16:15 pm.
The school day is followed by clubs and activities, in-house study periods and some free time to wind down from a busy day before bed time.
Boarding Life - Weekend
In a busy Beau Soleil weekend, students are typically involved in academic extension sessions and a range of exciting outdoor activities. These include skiing and snowboarding in the winter term, house paintballing trips, spending the day taking on a high ropes course, making an excursion to a castle, or taking part in a school challenge. We might visit Geneva or Lausanne, taking in a visit to a cinema, art gallery or museum. And of course, it’s also important that boarders have time simply to relax and unwind around Villars and the school campus as well.
Discipline
We have high expectations of our students, but we understand that they get things wrong sometimes -it’s part of the process of growing up. We have a clear set of rules, based around our four core values -Respect, Responsibility, Ambition and Determination. When things go wrong and disciplinary sanctions are needed, the aim is to ensure that students take responsibility for their actions, correct their mistakes and learn from them for the future.
