The Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging is one of eight departments in the School of Medical Sciences within the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences (FMHS) at the University of Auckland. It is recognised locally and internationally for anatomy and medical imaging education and research, in particular in neuroscience, cardiovascular, and musculoskeletal systems. The Department has state of the art anatomical dissection, processing, plastination, and imaging facilities, and fully integrates medical imaging into a variety of teaching and research programmes.
The Department of Anatomy and Medical Imaging is seeking to appoint a motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Medical Imaging. The successful applicant will assist in the delivery of an undergraduate medical imaging programme, perform research in medical imaging, and contribute to the academic environment within the Faculty of Medical and Health Science at the University of Auckland. Applicants must be a Medical Imaging Technologist (radiographer) and must have a current New Zealand clinical Annual Practising Certificate, or be eligible to apply for one. A postgraduate qualification (PhD or equivalent) in Medical Imaging is essential as the role will involve supervising PhD level students.
The Department offers the only registerable postgraduate programmes in Medical Imaging in New Zealand and has commenced delivery of an undergraduate Medical Imaging programme. This is a new position created to teach into the undergraduate Medical Imaging programme. The successful appointee will also contribute to all areas of Medical Imaging, medical and science students, registrars, postgraduates and health professionals.
The appointment will be for a three-year period and if progress is satisfactory, the role may be made permanent. Successful candidate will be appointed according to their level of expertise, experience and skills.
