Family Allowance

Families will receive the following remission of the tuition fee for each younger sibling of a Mentone Grammar student when they concurrently attend the School:

15% 2nd child
25% 3rd child
50% 4th and subsequent children

Families will receive the allowance for each younger sibling unless that sibling is receiving another form of fee remission from the School, in which case the family will be eligible for whichever single remission is the greater.

Payment of Fees and Other Charges

Tuition fees and other charges are payable in two equal instalments. These instalments will be payable on 1 February and 1 July.

Accounts must be paid by the due date. Fees will be charged on a pro-rata basis for new students commencing during a school term. These will be due 14 days from the date of invoice. Fees and charges may be paid via the School website or by cheque, credit card (Visa and Mastercard), BPAY or via School Plan Pty Ltd.

No adjustment to fees will be made for absences occasioned through illness or any other cause. Students with infectious diseases must remain away from the School for the period prescribed by the Health Department.

Payment Arrangements

Mentone Grammar will not enter into payment arrangements with parents. Payment options may be offered via ASG Funding Solutions and Edstart. Both ASG Funding Solutions and Edstart provide parents with a financing facility to enable fees to be paid weekly, fortnightly or monthly.

For details visit www.asg.com.au/products-services/asg-funding- solutions or www.edstart.com.au. The School does not receive commissions or direct benefit from ASG Funding Solutions or Edstart.

We strongly recommend families seek independent financial advice on the choices available that best suit your needs.

Advance Payments

Where a full year’s tuition fees and other charges are paid in full by the due date of the 1st instalment a 2% discount will be applied to those fees and charges. Fees will not be accepted for more than one year in advance.

Non-payment of fees

Where any account from the School is not paid in full by the due date for payment the amount outstanding at that time will accrue interest from the due date at the rate for the time being fixed under the Penalty Interest Rates Act 1983 (Vic).

Where accounts remain more than 30 days in arrears, the School reserves the right to obtain a report regarding the parent’s credit standing from a credit reporting agency. Any legal or other expenses incurred by the School in the collection process for outstanding accounts will be payable by the person/s liable for payment of such accounts.

Students will not be permitted to register for or attend any term-break cocurricular camps or tours if any portion of the tuition account is outstanding. The School reserves the right to suspend or cancel the enrolment of a student at the beginning of a term, and of any other child or children of the parents/guardians who are enrolled at the School, if any accounts remain unpaid by the due date for payment.

All signatories to the Enrolment Acceptance form are jointly and severally liable for all fees and charges payable. This arrangement continues irrespective of any changes between the relationship of co-signatories, any child support arrangements or any private agreement with a third party regarding payment of fees.

Withdrawal of students

One full term’s prior notice in writing of the intention to withdraw a student from the School must be provided to the Principal, (via email to enrol@mentonegrammar.net), otherwise one term’s fees in lieu of such notice will be payable. Students who receive a Scholarship must remain at Mentone Grammar until the end of Year 12 and progress suitably well during that time with good effort ratings. If a student leaves the School prior to the completion of Year 12, the persons responsible for the payment of the student’s fees will be obliged to pay to the School any tuition fees remitted during the period of the scholarship.
