We know that the financial cost of an Athenian education is substantial. Tuition is part of the revenue required to offer our small class sizes (average 15 students), retain highly educated and outstanding faculty, and maintain our campus. We also know that an Athenian education is most powerful for all with students from a range of socioeconomic backgrounds. Athenian's financial aid program enables talented students to become a part of our community who could not otherwise do so.
We encourage you to contact us with your questions about financing an Athenian education.
Athenian offers need-based grants to offset the cost of tuition. Admission to Athenian is need blind; the Admission Committee is not made aware that an applicant has applied for financial aid. Financial aid grants support approximately 22% of the Athenian student body. Recipients can expect the amount they pay to remain the same each year unless their financial circumstances change.
To apply for financial aid, you must complete the Parents' Financial Statement (see below) and submit tax returns. Both natural parents and stepparents must complete a financial aid application.
The Parents' Financial Statement (PFS) should be completed online at the Student Service for Financial Aid website.
Athenian School Code for filing PFS: 1414
Contact the Admission Office if you have trouble filing online or if you have any questions.

Along with most independent schools in the United States, Athenian uses the forms and methodology of the School and Student Service for Financial Aid (SSS) to evaluate financial aid applicants' ability to pay tuition. SSS and The National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS) together sponsor this service.
All families are eligible for Athenian’s payment plans, which spread the cost of an Athenian education over two payments (May and July) or seven payments (May through December). The seven payment plan requires tuition insurance and a billing fee which total 3.5% of the amount your family pays.
