* Tuition Insurance is required for all families who elect payment plans or a two-pay option. Tuition insurance is strongly suggested for all families.
Additional costs may be incurred if students choose to participate in specific programs (i.e., global programs, interim studies, driver's education classes, equestrian lessons, etc.)
Affording an independent school education is significant and we recognize the sacrifices families make to have their child attend. With Brewster’s mission in mind, we recognize the value of providing financial aid as a means of building a diverse community of learners. Therefore, we encourage all families who feel they may need financial assistance to apply for financial aid and we will partner with you in the admission process to determine the level of support we can provide.
Brewster Academy currently provides $4 million in financial aid to 30% of our student body. We collaborate with School and Student Services (SSS) to determine fair and equitable financial awards. These decisions are guided by the National Association of Independent Schools, “Principles of Good Practice for Financial Aid Administration”. SSS will use a standard calculation based on the information provided on the Parent Financial Statement (PFS) by the family and determine an estimated amount a family would be able to contribute toward a private education. The Committee meets and reviews this estimate along with tax documents provided to determine an award. Please note that every year financial aid requests exceed available funds, therefore Brewster is not able to fund every applicant that we would like to admit.
If you receive financial aid in your child’s first year, you will continue to receive financial aid in subsequent years, though you must reapply each year. In cases of significant change in a family’s financial situation, Brewster may change your award to reflect your financial need.
If you enroll your child at Brewster without receiving financial aid, it is unlikely you will receive it in subsequent years. However, we understand that unforeseen changes may significantly impact your ability to meet tuition obligations, and in those situations we ask for a returning family to reach out to the Director of Financial Aid, and to complete a financial aid application by January 15.
Please direct all questions regarding financial aid or the application process to the Director of Financial Aid, Rebecca Brooks, at rbrooks@brewsteracademy.org or 603-569-7188.
Families must apply online by visiting School and Student Services (SSS) and completing a Parents’ Financial Statement (PFS). You will be given a username and password that will allow you to return to your PFS at a later time in order to update it before submitting. You will only need to complete one form for any number of children and any number of schools. For divorced or separated parents, each parent, regardless of custodial arrangements, must complete a financial aid application. In the case of remarriage, a step-parent’s information should be included on the PFS. Should a court order be in place in a divorce that states payment obligations please attach this document under “other documents” in the SSS web site. The Brewster School code is 1828.
DEADLINES:
Note: Our resources are largely allocated by March 10 each year and we advise all families to meet their appropriate deadline.
