Fee Charges Detail

Application Fee

A one-time application fee of AED 500 plus 5% VAT, as per government regulations, is required to process your child’s application.

Registration Fee

Once a place is offered, a non-refundable registration fee of 4,000 AED or 10% of the annual tuition fees is required to secure your child’s seat (only for new students).This must be paid within ten days of receiving the acceptance letter.

This registration fee secures a place for your child at UIS and is credited against Term 1 fees. The payment deadline for Term 1 is August 1st.

Re-registration

Re-registration fee is AED2,000 or 5% of the annual tuition fees for returning students / re-admissions into the following year. This amount is credited against Term 1 fees.

KHDA Charges

For students transferring within Dubai schools, there is a KHDA administration fee of AED 120 per student. The receiving school collects this fee on behalf of the KHDA. When a student is transferring from one Taaleem school to another Taaleem school, this fee will be waived.

Tariff for the following KHDA services as stipulated by KHDA:

  • Request for student Education Continuation Certificate for visa renewal (AED 120)
  • Request for student leaving form for the students who are leaving Dubai (AED 120)
  • Request for student transfer between private schools (within the stipulated time frame) – student transfer (AED 120)
  • Request for student transfer between private schools (after the stipulated time frame) – student transfer (AED 120)
  • Request for attestation of student certificate or report card (AED 120).
  • Issuance of ‘To whomsoever it may concern’ certificate for matters related to school – attestation (AED 120)
  • Issuance of ‘To whomsoever it may concern’ certificate for matters related to students – academic history (AED 120)
  • Request to change student data at the Authority – student exam grade amendment (AED 120)

If any of the above services are required, please pay the respective amount to our school accounts office before collecting the document listed above.

Transportation

School buses are provided by Arab Falcon Dubai. The school bus fee may vary depending on your location. The school will assist you with arrangements.

Enrichment Programme

We provide a range of extra-curricular activities and educational visits for our students under the Enrichment programme. Please note that these may incur additional charges, especially when provided by our partner suppliers.

Exam Fee

In line with other private and international schools, there may be an additional fee for external examinations. If this is the case, we will inform you in advance.

Payment Terms

For, Term 1 fees are due on or before 1st August. Term 2 fees should be paid by 1st December and Term 3 by 1st March.

Once a place is offered, a non-refundable deposit fee must be paid to reserve the place until full tuition payment is made. This fee is deductible against Term 1 tuition fees.

Payment Options

Payments can be made by cash, credit card, bank transfer or cheque, but a manager’s cheque is preferred.

If payment is made by personal cheque, the school requires payment at least three working days before the invoice’s due date. All cheques must be made payable to “Uptown School”. A charge of AED 500 will be made for any returned or dishonoured cheque. Post-dated cheques for Term 2 must be lodged before the due date.

Tuition Refund Policy

Notice of student withdrawal and tuition refund applications must be made in writing to the Principal.
Ministry of Education regulations govern the school tuition refund policies outlined below:

Student withdrawal before the start of the academic year
– If the student has not attended any classes, the balance of the first-semester fee paid is refunded (minus any registration fee made for placing the student on the school’s official class list). This refund is subject to the Principal’s approval and complies with the Ministry of Education rules.

Student withdrawal during the school term

  • Fees will be charged for one full month if a student attends school for two weeks or less.
  • Fees will be charged for two full months if a student attends school for more than two weeks and less than one month.
  • Fees will be charged for the three full months if a student attends school for over a month.

Documentation

All documentation must be submitted before the student joins the school, including a one-time application fee of AED 500 plus 5% VAT as per Government regulations (for new students only).

Please note that we will only accept completed applications with all the required paperwork included.

Incoming students whose documents are incomplete cannot register with Dubai’s Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA), which could result in fines. UIS is not responsible for any fines imposed by the KHDA.

Admission

A completed application form does not translate into an automatic acceptance.

Once you have been notified of your child’s placement decision and the registration and relevant term fees have been paid, a contract is deemed to exist between the school and the parents/guardians, provided that the school regulations are observed.

The school reserves the right to place your child in the class deemed to be the most appropriate, within the bounds of the KHDA guidelines.

SEN/EAL/ILSA

Students with special education needs requiring the support of a specialist SEN/EAL/ILSA will be supported by the school in appointing one. Contact our Admissions Office for further details.
