Massanutten Military Academy has a long tradition of helping students reach their full potential. Our holistic approach to education not only helps your student to excel academically, but to grow as well-rounded human beings. We focus on character development, leadership, and service to help your student develop to their fullest potential. As part of the MMA curriculum, all high school cadets are enrolled into the Army JROTC program. Utilizing the resources and structure of this program, we are able to provide leadership skills that will last a lifetime. The Army JROTC program mission is “To Motivate Young People to be Better Citizens”.

Massanutten Military Academy’s mission is to prepare cadets for their success by delivering structure and a superior educational experience. Our unique approach involves an environment built on collaboration, critical thinking, and innovation. Together, we value cultural diversity and international mindedness as we prepare students to become tomorrow’s global citizens.

Massanutten Military Academy is an International Baccalaureate Career Program school (IBCP) and also offers a full STEM Curriculum, Honors Courses, and AP Courses, as well as Dual Enrollment Courses. Average class size at MMA is 10 Cadets.

We consistently evaluate what we do in all aspects of our school community to ensure we demonstrate our beliefs in what we teach, how we teach, and how we communicate with students, parents, alumni, trustees, faculty, staff, and the community.

Our motto, “Non Nobis Solum” or Not for Our Selves Alone, is the driving force and center of the Academy. All members of the Massanutten Family believe service to others is key to creating an environment of camaraderie and respect for all regardless of race, age, gender identity, ethnicity, family composition, ability, religion and socio-economic status. Massanutten Diversity, Equity and Inclusive Statement

One of our most outstanding features is our attention to the entire cadet experience with a focus on academics, cadet life, and athletics. Our cadets enjoy a wide array of academics courses including the core classes, AP, dual-enrollment, fine arts, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). We are also an IB (International Baccalaureate) World school.

Cadet life involves all activity outside of academics and athletics. The focus of cadet life is to teach cadets the skills needed to live and work with others. All cadets participate in sports. We firmly believe athletics allows our cadets to become leaders and teammates. They build camaraderie and learn how to work together.

We also care deeply about our cadets having the opportunity to learn and grow spiritually. We have a weekly cadet non-denominational chapel service every Sunday at 7:00 pm. All cadets are invited to attend the service. There is also an option for cadets to choose a local church they would like to attend and MMA provides transportation to and from to ensure our cadets are receiving the same worship opportunities they would if they were at home.

At MMA, we embrace experiential learning for all cadets. Faculty members strive to provide hands-on opportunities, activities and field trips to create an academic environment where collaboration and critical thinking are a part of cadets’ daily lives.
