Nambucca Valley Christian Community School (NVCCS) provides an education with a difference. We are a family based school with a Christ centred ethos and heritage. Our teachers are committed to every student. The school delivers Christian values and quality education; is personal and professional and trains students to respect and be accountable in their learning and behaviour towards others.

All learning at the Nambucca Valley Christian Community School takes place in a calm and secure family environment, where home and school work in close partnership to encourage children to be enthusiastic, confident and resilient learners.

Together, home and school nurture and encourage each child to appreciate, develop and enjoy the abilities, opportunities and responsibilities they have, as a person made in the image of God.

We trust that you will explore and enjoy our website and discover some of the many opportunities that Nambucca Christian Community School offers your family, as you consider joining with us on the journey of a Christ centred education for your children

Nambucca Valley Christian School was born out of a desire by Christians from different denominations to see a centre for Christian schooling established in the Nambucca Valley.

The school commenced operation on the first day of Term 1 in 1991. It started with 30 students enrolled, a Principal and two teachers. The impetus for the School came from three Congegational Ministers of the area, Reverend P Barnes, Pastor P Hannaford and Pastor M Cathcart, in conjunction with the Coffs Harbour Christian Community School.

The classrooms and facilities at NVCCS have been planned in a holistic manner and are modern and well maintained.

  • The specialist and general learning areas across the school are spacious and provide excellent opportunities for quality teaching and learning to take place from K-12.
  • There are are also two main covered open learning areas for students and teachers to enjoy.
  • In May 2019, the construction of the School's new auditorium will be finished.
  • The auditorium will be furnished with a Creative Arts stage, change rooms and be used as an Indoor Sports area for the use and enjoyment of its community.
  • The School also looks forward to being able to host large musical and dramatic productions.
  • The auditorium is a welcome addition in meeting the educational needs of our students as it provides more PDHPE spaces, particularly in wet weather.
  • The auditorium will also be an ideal meeting place for the whole school community and special events.
  • The School has a 5 year Masterplan for Facilities Development, which includes the development of two more specialist classrooms as well as additional general learning areas.

At NVCCS we desire to form students who are confident to take their place in society, to make a difference for the better in terms of sustainability, cultural sensitivity and social awareness. We want to create a School which looks upwards to the God who created us, sent His Son to save us and empowers us to live from day to day. We want our students to look outwards in service to both the local community and also others in various countries around the world. We want to create a School which educates and cares for all students who walk through and in it’s doors.

Each child is treated as an individual, made in the image of God to be loved, valued and respected as a learner. Every child is encouraged to understand that they matter because of who they are as individuals, not because of how smart they are or how much they can achieve.

We teach students to be faithful in whatever they do in their school life. Encouraging faithfulness as a priority helps children learn to be positive and confident in their learning at all levels. They learn to do a good job in whatever they do. They learn to be thankful for the abilities God gives and are encouraged to share those abilities thankfully in the service of others. Such Christ centered values and perspectives last a lifetime and continually impact for good in the lives of others.

A school for parents! Parents really matter at Nambucca Valley Christian Community School: sharing with parents in the education of their children is seen as a privilege for all staff and one which we take seriously. A close working relationship between parents and teachers is a strong foundation, as we seek to teach children to be resilient, responsible and self motivated in their learning.
