Oakland School is a private day school in Virginia, offering individualized instruction and small class sizes for students ages six through high school. We serve children with and without learning differences, helping each student strengthen skills in reading, writing, and math through evidence-based, multisensory teaching.
Located on a 450-acre campus near Charlottesville, Oakland provides a calm, structured, and nurturing environment where students build confidence and thrive academically and personally. A unique feature of the Oakland experience is our specialized equine program, which is included in admission and gives students regular opportunities to work with and care for horses—building confidence, responsibility, and connection through hands-on learning.
In addition to our school-year program, Oakland offers a summer camp with both day and overnight options, giving students—including international campers—the chance to build academic skills, enjoy outdoor activities, and experience classic summer fun.
