The Prince of Wales Island International School (POWIIS) opened in 2011 and has rapidly established a local, national and international reputation as one of Malaysia’s most significant schools. Both my daughters are thriving. The teachers and staff are dedicated, and the well-maintained facilities provide an excellent environment for learning. We especially appreciate the inclusion of Drama as an IGCSE subject, which my eldest is very excited about. They have a good music programme too. Powiis is just what an international school ought to be; its got diversity among staff and students, focus is on developing students to their fullest potential and offers a range of high quality academic opportunities. As a parent of a Year 7 student, I can say that my son loves attending POWIIS. He enjoys taking part in the wide range of extra curricular activities that are available to him including participating in the choir and the school musical. He also had the great opportunity to visit the Perhentian islands and is now looking forward to going to a MUN conference in Kuala Lumpur. Overall, I am very happy with the academic life at the school!
