Prior Weston School and Children’s Centre is a special place in a unique location. As a school, we aspire for all of our young learners to aim high, develop resilience, be curious and respectful, and to value diversity. We strive to provide the highest quality of a broad and balanced education, but we also place a lot of importance on our children becoming happy, confident and fulfilled individuals. We believe that our children should be encouraged to do well academically, and should also be exposed to a fun, varied and creative curriculum so that they develop a thirst and love for learning. We do this by encouraging our children to explore, discover and question through a range of exciting learning opportunities, where we nurture creativity, independence and individuality.

The campus of school and children’s centre provides a seamless service from pre-birth to the end of year 6 together with comprehensive extended day options available for all families. The campus serves many children and families from a range of backgrounds and cultures and this vibrant blend makes the Prior Weston community a unique and energising place to be. We also share the campus with Richard Cloudesely Primary school, who provide outstanding education for children with complex needs.

From its conception in 1968, Prior Weston has always had a reputation for being something a little bit different. It was this that enticed me to apply to become the school’s Head Teacher and myself and my team have been concentrating on bringing that special something back to the school. Long standing traditions like ‘The Happening’, The Auction of Promises and Project Week set the school apart and make the most of its rich cultural surroundings, encouraging children of different ages to work and create together as well as linking with the community.
