Established in 1989, we run the first play and activity based preschools in Singapore. Our classes cater to children from 18 months to six years. Shaws believes play is one of the most effective approaches for preschool children to gain academic knowledge and essential life skills.
The ShawsPlay curriculum combines inquiry-based learning and play-based approaches. Our teachers step back to let students take the lead on a subject and help them explore the subject further in an engaging way. We provide children with a fun environment to enjoy learning as we prepare them for formal school, and inspire them to stay curious, develop creativity, and never stop learning.
Shaws Preschool was conceived with a clear objective in mind—to provide a different type of preschool education in Singapore. One which no longer had boring lessons or top down teaching. That was why we established the first preschool in Singapore that emphasised play as a learning experience.
Our lessons are carefully planned to encourage your children to express themselves, work as a team, explore topics and most importantly have fun! Your child will be well prepared for later schooling—and life—with the care of our dedicated, trained and professional staff.

Together with our ECDA certified teachers, our preschools in Singapore will help your child’s development by:
We ignite wonder, excitement and laughter in your children by bringing stories to life. our progressive classes ensure that your child can read and write by K2, with never a dull moment during our play-based english classes!
We help your child love Mandarin from an early age, giving them a huge advantage later in life! Our experienced teachers introduce Mandarin in a fun way—through songs, stories, and cultural learning experiences (Pre Nursery) to reading and writing Mandarin (Nursery Two onwards).
Children learn best through active play. We partner with Shaws Little League to provide sports coaching twice a week to teach your child motor skills and nurture intrinsic values such as teamwork, resilience, communication and discipline in a safe, fun and educational environment.

My daughter spent 3.5years at Shaw's Mountbatten and never had a day she regretted going to school. She did not speak English or Chinese when enrolled in 2021, but the play-based environment has allowed her to catch up on the Singapore curriculum, and she has blossomed into an active, sociable and tough young lady.
