Since our inception in 1969, Taylor's has gained significant recognition as a leading private education institution. Our exhaustive list of accolades range from national to international, a testimony to our unwavering commitment towards excellence in teaching and learning, and high impact research.

Taylor’s University has been recognised by Malaysians as the favourite brand for Higher Education for eight consecutive years as determined by a robust consumer research methodology which saw 6,000 consumers vote for Malaysia’s favourite brands. Taylor’s is also the only Gold award winner in the “Education & Learning” category; and has been so since the launch of the Putra Brand Awards.

Teaching and Educational Development (TED) complements the work of academic staff to create excellence in teaching through practice, development, and innovation. We offers workshops and seminars that address a range of timely topics associated with teaching, learning and technology in higher education to enhance teaching capability and learning engagement.

The e-Learning Academy (eLA) is established with the specific mandate to drive and support the implementation of blended learning at Taylor’s University Lakeside Campus. The name ‘academy’ reflects its core purpose as unit which primarily promotes ‘learning how to teach with technology’. Hence, eLA’s task is to help our lecturers effectively implement the use of technology into teaching and learning.

At Taylor’s University, we adopt the term ‘blended learning’ as a principal means of addressing the use of technology combined with the best features of face to face interaction to enhance its learning and teaching activities. For the past three years, Taylor’s University has embarked on an ambitious journey to re-define student learning for better academic outcomes. Taylor’s University is at the forefront of blended learning, so that by 2016, every student at Taylor’s University will learn in a collaborative, self-directed and personalized manner anytime and anywhere.

Taylor’s Graduate Capabilities (TGC) was created in 2007 to enhance university-level education to meet the ever- changing demands of industry, community and globalisation. TGC outlines the core knowledge, skills, abilities and qualities that students will develop at Taylor’s University regardless of their programme of study. In a highly competitive and challenging 21st century workplace, graduates who are skilled will be relevant, responsive and work-ready to start ahead and stay ahead in the global marketplace.

A Taylor’s graduate who is equipped with TGC is not only readily adaptable to the changing workplace environment, but he/she also has the ability to take on new tasks and jobs successfully.

The teaching and learning approach at Taylor’s University is focused on ensuring that each student is able to acquire and demonstrate discipline-specific knowledge, cognitive capabilities and soft skills. The Integrated Teaching and Life-long Learning Center at Taylor’s (INTELLECT) ensures the provision of relevant, innovative, and excellent teaching and learning experiences at Taylor's. This mandate emanates from Taylor’s commitment to become one of the leading teaching and learning institutions in the region. We are committed to supporting the University, schools, and individual academic staff in transforming teaching and learning to achieve excellence in teaching and learning quality. To ensure the provision of relevant, innovative, and holistic teaching and learning experiences for all.
