Whether they are more keen on outdoor or indoor exploits, they are surely going to love Jordan’s “white city”. Amman has many outdoor parks waiting to be discovered. You and your family can go to the Al Shuhada’a Park, also called the “Martyrs Park”, which can be found just across the Abdulhameed Sharaf School Deir Ghbar. This park is an ideal place for your kids to bike around or play in swings, slides, and monkey bars. Another great alternative is the Al Diyar Park, which is located just behind the Cosmo Grocery Store Abdoun. The Al Diyar Park has the same playground and biking area, which your kids will surely enjoy!
Should you wish for a wider area for children to play around with other kids or discover other fun activities together, you can go to the Al Hussein Public Park. This park is still undergoing construction to include a cultural village, museums, and sports area. However, you can already have your kids running or biking around the vicinity. The Al Hussein Public Park will also be an ideal place to have bonding moments with your child over soccer or other ball games. This park is found near Dabouq, just west of the main street in between the Khalda and the Medical City Circle.
We also recommend going to the Al-Mororiyah Park in Khalda, just a stone’s throw away from the Holiday Inn. This park offers a unique experience for your kids, as it has a large area for kids to drive small electric cars. One other option is the Zahran Park, which has a botanic garden that allows you to have a quiet family time together. Your kids can also ride a bicycle around the area. The Zahran Park is located at Zahran Street between the 3rd and 4th circle.
If you want a place to relax as you watch your children socialize and discover things about themselves and the world, the outdoor parks in Amman are best for you. What’s even better is you can go to these parks for free (or a minimal amount for the Al-Mororiyah Park)! Of course, you can bring snacks like sandwiches or fruits, and have yourselves a family picnic. Or maybe, bring some cash to buy ice cream or candies.

Whether you have a toddler, a 3-year-old, a preschool, or a grade school kid, you must include the Children’s Museum Jordan on your activity list. Located inside the Al Hussein Public Park, the Children’s Museum provides children an avenue for fun-filled learning. Every month, the museum coordinators come up with creative programs to deliver a unique experience for every visitor. The Children’s Museum has a closed play area for toddlers, a huge outside area, a library, a gift shop, and more than 100 interactive indoor and outdoor exhibits where kids can do experiments, play at a shop, make music, and other thrilling adventures. You can visit the museum every day, except Tuesdays.

If you are a parent who wants fun coupled with education, you can opt to explore two of Amman’s cultural centers, known as the Haya Cultural Center and the Zaha Cultural Center. Both of these places offer indoor and outdoor activities for your kids. In the Haya Cultural Center, you can find a playground, a small fairground, a snack place, a sports ground, and several rooms with various indoor activities for your active little ones. The Haya Cultural Center can be found in Shmeisani. Meanwhile, the Zaha Cultural Center has a large playground (rubber mats for indoor and sand for outdoor), an inflatable slide, a small snack place, a theater, a sports ground, and rides. This cultural center is located in Khalda. You can visit the Haya and the Zaha cultural centers any day of the week, and for little cost, usually from $2 to $3.

We get it, some folks do not like to go to parks and museums because they tend to be crowded. Well, guess what, we have an option for those of you who wish to spend quality time with the kids in a less crowded area. The Garden of Prince Hashem is a popular spot among locals in Amman, although most tourists and expatriates are not familiar with this amazing sanctuary. This garden is located in Shmeisani, and is more than just your typical garden. In fact, the Garden of Prince Hashem is an aviary where you can see various species of birds. Your little kids will surely have fun wandering about and learning stuff about chickens, pigeons, and other birds.

Of course, your kids would want to go to the zoo and see those animals they only see on television. Thankfully, Amman has a privately run zoo where various animals are found. In addition to seeing and interacting with the animals, you can treat your kids to have some fun with the zoo rides. You may also bring snacks and a blanket, and have your family picnic surrounded by wildlife. What’s even better is that entrance fee to the Amman Zoo is cheap, $3 at most.

If you have small boys who get the most excitement in driving toy cars, the Go Karts is your ultimate place to go in Amman. Located near the Sport City, Go Karts provide a thrilling adventure for your older kids. Your child can rent a kart for a minimal fee per lap, and spend an afternoon playing around the tracks.

Oh, admit it, you want to jump on trampolines as much as your kid wants to! In Amman, there is a Gravity Trampoline Park located in Mecca Mall. Your 3-year-old kids and up (and yourself) can take delight in jumping up and down on more than 100 trampolines inside the park. Your kids can enjoy themselves inside a ball pit, tons of interconnected trampolines, a rope course, and a dodgeball court. For sure, it is a great bonding activity for your kids and their friends. The cost of an hour jump at the trampoline park is approximately $15, with socks provided.

Okay, so you want something which is indoor and has areas for different activities. Why not try the Tala Kids Club located inside the less crowded Baraka Mall? The Tala Kids Club is essentially a playground which houses a huge labyrinth, a ball pool, trampolines, and other fun activities for kids. There is also a party room where kids can have their birthday parties. What’s interesting is the area for parents to watch over their kids, as the latter play around and make new friends. The entrance fee for the Tala Kids Club is $10 good for 2 hours.

Treat your kids for a gastronomic experience at Falafel Al Quds Rainbow Street. True to its name, this block is filled with a colorful collection of antique shops, luxury shops, art galleries, bars, and coffee shops.

Take your kids to visit the splendid architectural masterpiece that is the Abu Darwish Mosque. Located on the highest point of Amman, this mosque is distinguishable with its black and white checkered patterns.

An art school in Amman, the Creative Art Center is the perfect place for your kids to learn the art of pottery making, ceramic painting, sculpture, drawing, mixed media, darkroom photography printing, and painting. Classes are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

It tests your skills, both mentally and physically, as a team wherein the ultimate goal is to unlock the mysteries and uncover clues within an hour.
