Western Grammar School was opened in 2012 with the aim of providing the community with a safe learning environment that focused on character and quality education. In its first year running, WGS catered to barely a dozen students from Kindergarten to Year 4 and had only two single-story buildings to teach them in. Over the past five years, our school has grown rapidly and we now boast around 300 students with classes going up to Year 12 and double stream primary classes.

In early 2016, WGS formally opened a new double story building for High School and unveiled plans to start construction on another double story building for Primary. With improved resources and premises, an ever-increasing student body and a dedicated team of passionate and experienced teachers, WGS is committed to fulfilling its promise of providing the best education in an enriching environment.

Western Grammar has started from humble beginnings but our school has seen rapid development over a brief period of time, and the future only holds the possibility of greater achievements that will benefit Australia’s diverse community. We stand committed in our endeavor to provide an individualized academic focus and opportunities for creative expression for our students at all levels of development.

At Western Grammar School, we understand that a positive environment has a significant impact on a student’s ability to learn and grow. Recognizing that we are a nation of immigrants in a diverse country, Western Grammar cherishes the multi-cultural, multi-racial and multi-faith nature of our society. We encourage our students to cultivate a Universalist outlook on life and to constantly seek to broaden their horizons in tolerance, compassion and cooperation with one another. We seek to prevent discrimination on the grounds of gender, race and religion in all areas of our school. Our school environment will be based upon the well guided Islamic teachings and ideologies with the aim of educating students to display these positive behaviors in their personal lives as well as in school.

Our vision is to provide a well-rounded education suited to the current living environment in Australia that is respectful of Australian cultural and historical frameworks. We hope to empower and equip future generations to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving and highly competitive world. Western Grammar School is committed to establishing a dynamic and supportive learning environment in which all students can become caring and considerate citizens of Australia. We encourage students to achieve their highest potential as we strive to uphold the highest standards of education as set out in the New South Wales Board of Studies curriculum.

Western Grammar seeks to foster in our students understanding and respect for each other and for the diversity of multicultural communities in Australia. Students are encouraged to be innovative, creative and problem-solving individuals. Students strive to achieve their personal best in an ideal educational and Islamic environment. They will be able to take their place with pride in the community and in the world.

Our mission is to facilitate an environment in which students develop a positive, purposeful view of the future for themselves and for the wider community. We aim to establish a place of learning and teaching that is safe and happy both for students and teachers alike. WGS intends to be a place which best reflects the needs and expectations of our community by endeavoring to provide opportunities for students to enjoy success and recognition. It is hoped current and past students will make useful contributions, serving others as global citizens.

We are highly quality conscious and will take necessary measures to ensure our position as a leader in education in Australia. We are currently in the process of improving our infrastructure and educational facilities. We will achieve our target of quality education by:

  • Meeting all of Australia’s high standards of education and fulfilling the requirements of governmental departments.
  • Employing highly capable and qualified staff members, considering that each member of staff directly contributes towards upholding and maintaining the school’s quality standards.
  • Putting forth our best efforts to achieve our targets while complying with all legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensuring quality control of operational variations by training the teaching staff and governing body to enhance their skills set and continuously improve their abilities.
  • Operating in a safe and healthy environment to improve employee satisfaction.
  • Operating under a code of conduct and ethics to create a healthy working and educational environment at our institution.
  • Prioritising quality for character building and focusing on the brilliant futures of the next generations.
