The Academy is one of the oldest secondary schools in the United States. Since our founding in 1801, we have prepared students for a lifetime of learning. Through our diverse educational programs, our extra-curricular offerings, strong community partnerships, and supportive alumni network, we provide an experience which is unrivaled in our region. Our program and offerings allow our students to truly grow into the people they were meant to be.

We are very proud of our students’ accomplishments and, more importantly, the compassion and kindness our students demonstrate. The acceptance and actions of social justice we witness on campus are inspiring and gives us hope for the future.

Our alumni continue to impress us. We often hear from alumni how the years they spent on The Academy campus laid the foundation for who they are today. The investment we make in students through our student-centered program makes The Academy a unique educational experience.

The Woodstock Academy prepares all students by providing diverse opportunities through a rigorous curriculum and a variety of programs in order to cultivate the necessary skills to become lifelong learners and global citizens.

By the time a Woodstock Academy student walks across the graduation stage, they will have explored a comprehensive curriculum by taking classes in English, mathematics, science, social studies, world language, fine arts, humanities, STEM, career and life skills, and health and physical education, along with numerous opportunities for electives.

Over 240 course options for all levels of learners taught by qualified, dedicated faculty. Academy students are empowered to develop to their highest potential and to be successful today and in the future.

Authentic and hands-on experiences are a valuable part of a Woodstock Academy education. Students in International Relations organizing a debate for electoral candidates, Italian students practicing language and experiencing culture in Italy, and Field Ecology students collecting samples from local waterways are just a few examples.

The Beatson Makerspace and Fabrication lab, stocked with equipment and supplies for building and creating, is a hub on campus for classes across the disciplines to learn through making. Intro to STEAM students can test principles of design, engineering, and physics while developing a weight-bearing tower out of newspapers and English literature students can create board games as a creative way to go beyond their analysis of literature.

Whether working together in the Randall Creative Learning space or in a group video call, collaborative learning is at the core of The Woodstock Academy experience. Students in the Multicultural Foods class students collaborate with German language students to bake traditional German dishes in the on-campus bakery. Fire Technology and Video Production students collaborate to film public service announcements using a green screen.
