British Orchard Nursery - DWC

British Orchard Nursery is the Middle East’s largest nursery chain and is the first nursery chain to be ISO certified for quality, environment, and health and safety. BON has been awarded 11 international and 10 international awards including the Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award, the Dubai Human Development Appreciation Award, and the Dubai Quality Appreciation award for its dedication to providing quality services and business excellence. The nursery chain operates all over the UAE with 15 convenient locations in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, and Dubai, including prestigious government partnerships with DEWA, Municipality, ADCO, and Dubai Women’s College.

BON follows the British National Early Years Curriculum guidelines, focusing on developing Early Years Education through an in-depth unique planning programme, which offers personal assessment for every child and is measured termly ensuring that their needs are met. In addition, BON offers a varied learning environment with facilities such as a sensory room, a role play area, outdoor play areas, and a specialized children’s gym called GymJuniorz which is staffed with instructors certified by the British Gymnastic Association. Additionally, BON offers a variety of fun extracurricular activities including ballet, music, karate, and soccer.

Parents are children's first educators and we know that a welcoming atmosphere with good communication between parents and the school is vital for children’s development. We value the feedback we receive from all our stakeholders. They are a vital tool for British Orchard Nursery to see what weare excelling in, to be able to provide feedback to the staff and so that we have the opportunity to develop the school and add to/alter things.

Our aim is to provide each child with well thought-out opportunities to develop his/her potential within a nurturing and safe environment. We do this through positive reinforcement and modelling. This contributes to a curriculum which fosters a sense of awe and wonder, inspiring children to start their learning journey with a strong sense that learning is a life-long enjoyable endeavour.

At British Orchard Nursery, we take Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) seriously. British Orchard Nursery gives back to the society through various channels. British Orchard Nursery has been awarded for its efforts in CSR, receiving the Arabia CSR Award in 2014.

Our aim is to be a role model in 'Giving Back to Society' through profits that are shared with organisations aligned in the cause of helping and educating those in our influence to be productive and responsible citizens who minimize the negative impact on the planet.

British Orchard Nursery contributes 1% of its total revenue to the British Orchard Nursery Foundation, supporting underprivileged children, families, and the elderly. British Orchard Nursery also regularly participates in programs that raise awareness for causes in UAE and globally, supporting causes like Autism, Breast Cancer, Education, and many more. We are also advocates for the environment, supporting recycling initiatives and promoting awareness for reduction of consumption of resources in our nurseries and in the community, teaching the next generation to respect and care for our planet.

Additional efforts are also made throughout the Holy month of Ramadan, whereby initiatives such as the ‘sharing fridges’, ‘Lakum Boxes’ and donations to workers are promoted amongst the families and staff at BON!

Communication and language development involves giving children opportunities to experience a rich language environment; to develop their confidence and skills in expressing themselves; and to speak and listen in a range of situations.

Mathematics involves providing children with opportunities to develop and improve their skills in counting, understanding and using numbers, calculating simple addition and subtraction problems; and to describe shapes, spaces, and measure.

Personal, social and emotional development helps children to develop a positive sense and respect for themselves, and for others. It enables children to learn social skills and a positive attitude to learning.

Physical development involves providing opportunities for young children to be active and interactive; and to develop their co-ordination, control, and movement. Children must also be helped to understand the importance of physical activity6, and to make healthy choices in relation to food.
