Step by Step Nurseries offer high quality care and education to children aged 45 days – 4 years in our family centric settings designed and maintained to be happy, safe, and nurturing home away from home environments. Our large, converted villa settings, sit inside vibrant residential communities and due to our small size, we are able to offer a curriculum and approach that is individualized, and tailor made to meet every child’s unique needs. We work hand in hand with parents to ensure that we know every child exceptionally well and we believe that a strong partnership with parents supports the holistic care, learning and development goals for our children which in turn, enables every child to reach their full potential, step by step.
Using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for England and a Reggio inspired approach to teaching and learning, we see children as unique, curious and competent learners. Our learning approach is underpinned by the five C’s: Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Care. These principles are widely acknowledged as highly effective early childhood pedagogy for the 21st century and at Step by Step nursery we emphasize hands on discovery learning that allows children to use all the senses and their many languages of learning. Our teachers are cognizant of each child’s potential and construct their work, play, and the environment to support, challenge and extend learning appropriately. We embrace the importance of the Arabic language, heritage and culture at Step by Step and offer Arabic language lessons twice weekly to all FS1 children as well as reinforcing key Arabic vocabulary throughout the daily programme.
Our classrooms are bright and spacious featuring ample open-ended resources and recycled materials to encourage creativity and support sustainability. Resources are accessible to children to encourage independence, communication, and collaboration. Areas of learning include sensory trays for messy and tactile exploration, table-top spaces for manipulative games and mark making activities, junk modelling areas to build and create quiet areas to retreat into and role play areas to encourage imagination and social development.
Our gyms are safe open spaces featuring large soft play blocks to encourage movement in a range of ways and directions, to develop gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, body control and function. Equally, our outdoor garden areas are purposely designed to support the development of skills such as climbing, running, crawling, balancing, sliding, jumping. Our large wooden bespoke equipment and interactive panels supports children’s physical development and compliment our natural gardens and sand areas.
At Step by Step, we offer flexible programmes and timings to suit every family’s needs and we are open from 7.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday. For added convenience, we offer a meal plan for our children consisting of breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and we also run Extra Curricular Activities from 3pm daily including football and gymnastics. Our transportation service is ideal for working families and our bus operates across the surrounding local areas.

It is not often that your expectations are exceeded but that has been exactly our experience with Learning Land as we have reflected on our years spent living in Dubai. We are about to transition our family to a new country where my son will start big school but I feel very confident that he is well-prepared and will cope well with a variety of new experiences because of what he has experienced in nursery. There is a cost involved in sending your child to nursery but in this side of things (FS1) I can say it is absolutely worth it. Learning Land is a friendly, welcoming busy but not to overwhelming well-staffed and caring. We have repeatedly been blown away by the kinds of experiences by both teachers and incredible hard working teacher assistants. The balance of play-based learning and language-learning and physical activity alongside phonics is great. So thankful. THANK YOU!

If you are leaving your child in childcare for the first time, then I highly recommend Learning Land. It has all the facilities of your "bigger" nursery (outdoor playground, indoor gym, library) but with a more homely feel. The nursery is managed by Miss Simone, who is always present, knows all of the children and operates an open door policy in case of any hiccups along the way. The teachers are kind, caring and welcoming. Together with the classroom assistants they work hard to make Learning Land a stimulating environment for children to learn through play and excel.

We are so grateful for the role that Learning Land has played in our family this year. Even Sami’s grandparents on the other side of the world can tell how much he has benefitted from the kindness, creativity and impressively hard work of the whole staff team. It’s been a pleasure having my kids in this nursery. Compared to where my first son went to nursery, this is the best! Reason being the twins have really improved their personalities, creativity and academics so far that I could imagine. For the teacher, thank you so much for the hard work.
