Step by Step Nurseries offer high quality care and education to children aged 45 days – 4 years in our family centric settings designed and maintained to be happy, safe, and nurturing home away from home environments. Our large, converted villa settings, sit inside vibrant residential communities and due to our small size, we are able to offer a curriculum and approach that is individualized, and tailor made to meet every child’s unique needs. We work hand in hand with parents to ensure that we know every child exceptionally well and we believe that a strong partnership with parents supports the holistic care, learning and development goals for our children which in turn, enables every child to reach their full potential, step by step.
Using the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for England and a Reggio inspired approach to teaching and learning, we see children as unique, curious and competent learners. Our learning approach is underpinned by the five C’s: Creativity, Communication, Collaboration, Critical Thinking and Care. These principles are widely acknowledged as highly effective early childhood pedagogy for the 21st century and at Step by Step nursery we emphasize hands on discovery learning that allows children to use all the senses and their many languages of learning. Our teachers are cognizant of each child’s potential and construct their work, play, and the environment to support, challenge and extend learning appropriately. We embrace the importance of the Arabic language, heritage and culture at Step by Step and offer Arabic language lessons twice weekly to all FS1 children as well as reinforcing key Arabic vocabulary throughout the daily programme.
Our classrooms are bright and spacious featuring ample open-ended resources and recycled materials to encourage creativity and support sustainability. Resources are accessible to children to encourage independence, communication, and collaboration. Areas of learning include sensory trays for messy and tactile exploration, table-top spaces for manipulative games and mark making activities, junk modelling areas to build and create quiet areas to retreat into and role play areas to encourage imagination and social development.
Our gyms are safe open spaces featuring large soft play blocks to encourage movement in a range of ways and directions, to develop gross motor skills such as balance, coordination, body control and function. Equally, our outdoor garden areas are purposely designed to support the development of skills such as climbing, running, crawling, balancing, sliding, jumping. Our large wooden bespoke equipment and interactive panels supports children’s physical development and compliment our natural gardens and sand areas.
At Step by Step, we offer flexible programmes and timings to suit every family’s needs and we are open from 7.30am – 5.30pm Monday to Friday. For added convenience, we offer a meal plan for our children consisting of breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea and we also run Extra Curricular Activities from 3pm daily including football and gymnastics. Our transportation service is ideal for working families and our bus operates across the surrounding local areas.

Our two daughters (4yo and 2yo) went to Step by Step nursery for one term after we relocated to Dubai, we were looking for an environment that felt like home and would be easy for the girls to settle into. Step by Step Nursery Dubailand exceeded our expectations, they have an open-door policy and were ready to address any concerns we had and this made us feel at ease and guaranteed that our girls were in the right hands.
The girls looked forward to going to school every morning and enjoyed the different activities of their respective classes (which we could track on the parent app). We used the school bus service for pickups and drops offs for the term and I cannot stress enough how professional the team was, we were put at ease knowing our girls were in safe hands. I would like to commend the entire Step by Step nursery team and thank them for making us feel at home and contributing to the individualized development of the girls. We are so sad to leave, as our oldest moves to FS2. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for an intimate setting that truly is a home away from home.

Step by Step Nursery is an amazing institution. At the heart of Layan Community, it was always been our preferred nursery. Our son is very happy at Step by Step and therefore so are we. I cannot recommend the nursery enough. It has a wonderful community feel, and we will be very sad to leave. Thank you for taking care of our son, and giving him the best start in life.

Step by Step is an exceptional nursery that treats each child as an individual and supports their development in a caring and nurturing way. The teachers, assistants and support staff are superb. The facilities and experiences that the children have access to daily are outstanding. The outdoor space in particular is unrivaled.
The creative teaching methods and effort that goes into themed days and special events never fails to leave me in awe. Both my children have loved attending SBS.

We initially started our daughter at Step by Step for its convenience in addition to its friendly, welcoming and clean atmosphere. Although we had options to enroll our daughter in some schools that are difficult to get into (for FS1/Pre-K) we have decided to continue at SbS. Our daughter has absolutely loved going to school and we can see the impact the nursery experience has on her language skills, not to mention coordination, numeracy and overall development. Her teacher has excellent control of the classroom, organisation, rapport with the children and a fabulous creativity as she develops the units of study. We would recommend SbS without hestiation.

Step by Step nursery offers a nurturing and engaging environment for your children. My daughter joined last year in Layan, Hedgehog class with Miss Rama and she absolutely loved every moment. The team is very friendly and genuinely care for teh children well-being. Every morning they create a warm welcoming atmosphere that make booth parents and kiddos feel at ease. We also love the sense of community the nursery promotes, hosting lovely little events. We are super happy at Step by Step and look forward to an amazing new year.
