Avendale International Kindergarten

Avendale International Kindergarten provides children in Hong Kong with a bilingual (English & Mandarin) learning environment designed to spark their curiosities. We recognise that each child is unique and has an innate ability to acquire knowledge through playful exploration.

Inspired by the world renowned Reggio Emilia approach to learning, our curriculum and teaching methods are child centred and promote innovative thinking. Teachers at Avendale are experienced and supported by a strong advisory team to guide children into learning. Avendale nurtures within each child with future ready skills of resilience, leadership and collaboration to succeed in an ever changing world. We also prepare our children by helping them develop enduring moral character and integrity.

Children learn best when they establish mutual respect and are in positive relationships with their parents, teachers, and peers. At Avendale, we engage parents through effective and open communication. Avendale also offers playgroups and enrichment programmes, for children starting from 9 months, in English, Mandarin, and French.

At Avendale Education, we offer a variety of enrichment programmes for young children to expand their creativity and explore diverse interests. Each program is designed to provide children with a safe and encouraging environment to engage the senses, discover the world around them and develop skills that will propel them to becoming lifelong learners.

The Avendale enrichment program allows children to take a deeper exploration into a chosen field of interest. We encourage the development of passion as we recognize that children learn best when they are truly interested in what they do. Enrichment classes typically start with the acquisition of skills and a consolidation of prior knowledge, which will then lead onto a project that will be expanded on over a number of sessions. These projects are designed to provide challenging, thought-provoking learning experiences that will equip children with new skills and a passion for learning.

Avendale’s learning environments are regarded as a third teacher for our students, where they learn to relate to themselves and the world around them. We pay thoughtful attention to the use and placement of furniture and materials aimed to inspire and encourage creative exploration. Our first campus at The Parkside, Tseung Kwan O is open, and we are in the process of constructing two more purpose-built campuses with one at Harmony Garden, Siu Sai Wan and the other at Sai Wan.

The Parkside campus features a common area equipped with balancing and climbing facilities, an interactive wall, and open play area. There are a total of nine classrooms. An abundance of natural light is available throughout the learning environment.

A rooftop garden of over 3,500 sq feet will be available at the Harmony Garden campus. Children will have their senses stimulated through the opportunity to investigate, explore, discover and experiment with the natural world.

With over 19,000 sq feet of learning space, the Sai Wan campus will be fitted with a water play area, sand pits, as well as dedicated cooking, art, and project rooms.
