The British School Al Khubairat is celebrating the achievements of their Sixth Form students, who once again shone through as the world saw a return to examinations.
124 BSAK Year 13 students undertook 337 A Level subjects and 21 Level 3 BTEC Diplomas. Students received 61 A* grades and 158 A*/A grades, with a staggering 24 students gaining at least 3 straight A/A* awards and 5 students achieving 4 straight A/A* awards. Our BTEC results were again outstanding, with 100% of students achieving at least a Distinction (equivalent to an A grade at A Level), with 81% of grades being at Distinction* (equivalent to A* at A Level).
In percentage terms, 42% of all grades were awarded at either A* or A, 67% of grades were awarded at A*- B, with a 100% pass rate. These outstanding results have allowed students to progress onto universities such as Imperial College London, UCL, Exeter, Edinburgh, Bristol, St Andrews in the UK; as well as renowned global universities such as: Stanford, UC Davis and Santa Barbara, Penn State, Istituto Marangoni, New York (Abu Dhabi and New York), Waterloo University (Canada), and the University of Amsterdam. A full list of destinations will follow later.

Headmaster, Mark Leppard MBE commented ‘These Sixth Form students are still a part of the Pandemic era. Most of the first year of their studies was completed online, and they did not sit examinations for their GCSEs due to Covid restrictions, so to achieve such standards of results against these challenges is truly impressive, and it is only right to be incredibly proud. Our BSAK students have shown so much grit and determination over the past 2 years, and it is their endeavour and resilience, as well as the collective support from home and school, that has seen them truly shine. I salute this spirit and dedication, as it has allowed our students to once again exceed expectations, even in the most challenging of times.’
Head of Secondary, Teresa Woulfe, commented ‘We are really proud of our students, and delighted with their incredible achievements despite the disruptions over the last 3 years of school. They richly deserve their results, they are a reflection of their hard work, adaptability and resilience. As a school community, we have worked hard to ensure that our students received the very best learning experiences throughout the many challenges and restrictions due to Covid. I would also like to take the opportunity to celebrate and thank our staff and our parents who have supported and mentored these students to enable them to achieve their very best and move forward with the next stage of their educational journey’
Furthermore this year our Year 12 EPQ AS Level results were exceptional, providing a strong foundation for these students, as they move into Year 13 and begin their university applications.
