Fudan International School - Shanghai

FDIS, a WASC accredited, IB World school, provides an international curriculum from Grades 1-12 for students who wish to pursue higher education outside China. As a public school for international students, FDIS is managed by FDFZ. Relying on the resources of Fudan University, it aims to build a diverse international community within the humanistic context of Fudan. We seek to encourage all students to become global citizens, academic inquirers, critical thinkers, and effective communicators. FDIS enrolls nearly 400 students hailing from 23 different countries and regions all over the world. All students are at least bilingual and the majority are international students residing in China.

FDIS practices holistic education and embraces a liberal arts curriculum by inspiring students to explore the world around them through inquiry and conceptual-based teaching. Through its rich campus life, FIDS seeks to develop students' physical and mental skills, embrace individuality, and promote a balance between character and talent, and sensibility and rationality. FDIS students graduate to become lifelong learners, thinkers, and creators with an international mindset and perspective.

FDIS hopes to foster academic exploration and intellectual curiosity while also nurturing each student's individuality. Therefore, all students in grades 6 and 10 take rigorous, specialized elective courses. These electives help students distinguish themselves academically through the discovery and cultivation of their passions and the development of the skills necessary to succeed in university

Entering Grade 11, students have two curriculum options: the IB Diploma Program or the IB Certificate. All graduates are also awarded a WASC accredited high school diploma Grades 9 and 10 follow a rigorous college-prep curriculum based on common core standards. All listed courses (except Chinese language courses) use English as the language of instruction.

Service Learning aims to inspire students to become life-long learners and responsible citizens through authentic learning experiences. Projects involve investigation, preparation, action, and reflection, empowering students to make lasting, impactful contributions to their community and the wider world.

The High School Affiliated to Fudan University is an elite Chinese high school. FDFZ students have the option to enroll in the full IBDP program at FDIS. In G10, students take pre-IB courses before enrolling in the full IB curriculum in years 11 and 12. Cumulative GAs are based solely on their courses at FDIS.
