Few decisions hold the same significance as selecting the right school for your daughter. At St Michael’s Collegiate School we welcome you to explore the boundless opportunities available to your daughter as she progresses through each of our three unique campuses.

Collegiate welcomes students from the greater Hobart area as well as boarders from further afield. Day boarding is also available at the Boarding House. While many girls complete their entire education at Collegiate we welcome enrolments from students who wish to enter the school at other stages of their schooling. Read about our enrolment process.

Collegiate is centrally located in Hobart and easily accessible with excellent transport links. The School also provides its own flexible, door to door bus service for girls up to Year 7 across Hobart. As the girls mature they are encouraged to become independent with their travel arrangements.

We are committed to providing services to support our families. Many after school activities are in place to support student interests and to ensure girls maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Outside School Hours Care and Holiday Care is also available and details can be found in our Parent Handbook.

We encourage you to contact our enrolment team and look forward to welcoming your daughter into the Collegiate family.

International student enrolment procedures

International students are welcome to contact our Enrolments team. We can assist with English language assessment and Visa requirements. Enquires from international students can also be directed to one of our approved Agents. Collegiate works in conjunction with these agents who facilitate all aspects of international student enrolments.

Step 1

Complete the International Student Expression of Interest Form and forward it to the Enrolments team by email or to your Collegiate affiliated agent. Include your daughters two latest school reports and a copy of her passport.

Once submitted, we will request your daughter complete an AEAS test to assess her academic level and English language abilities.

Step 2

We will assess the application, school reports and AEAS results and if accepted, issue to you (or your agent) the Offer of Place, which will outline the details of your enrolment.

Step 3

Upon acceptance of place and payment of the enrolment fee, we send an electronic Confirmation of Enrolment (eCoE) and confirmation of welfare arrangements to assist in your Visa application.

Step 4

Only after the Visa has been granted should you make your daughter’s flight bookings. Please view our yearly term dates and confirm with the Enrolments team the date your daughter should arrive in Hobart. As soon as your daughter’s flight bookings are confirmed please notify Collegiate by email.

Step 5

On arrival at Hobart Airport, your daughter will be met by the Director of Boarding (or her representative) and transported to the School. School uniform and books will be arranged upon arrival, along with an orientation of the School. Before she starts her classes, she will have a Personal English Assessment test to determine her English level, and she will meet with the Educational Counsellor to select her subjects and be provided with a School timetable. She will also have an interview with the Principal and be introduced to her House Dean and Mentor. Further on-going support is provided by the Director of Boarding, the International Student Coordinator and the Head of Senior School or Middle School.

Policies and conditions of enrolment

The Offer of Place letter (in Step 2 above) contains details of Collegiate’s International Student Conditions of Enrolment, International Student Visa Regulations and Code of Conduct, International Student Refund Policy and International Student Enrolment Agreement.

Collegiate has many other policies and reports, with which international students and their parents should make themselves familiar. To view these policies and reports please visit the Policies page on our website.
