Regent International School has launched a fun video to help its students to embrace the ‘new norm’. The video titled “Together Make A Difference” features staff members and teachers performing, to elude uncertainties and comprehensions surrounding restarting of the school during the pandemic. This video has been one of the best initiatives by any schools in Dubai to display its safe start.
“This was a great initiative from our creative Music and Performing Arts Department. It allowed us to come together as a community to share this important message in an engaging way. It has also led to some valuable discussions between parents, teachers and students around the topic. It has been a fantastic start to the year at Regent International School and this was a great way of saying that we are safe, aware and most importantly open and ready to deliver the exciting learning experiences that we are known for “says Mr. David Williams, Acting Principal of Regent International School.
Regent further states that all safety protocols including use of face masks and hand sanitisers are being followed by students and staff members. Routine checks on entry, exit, handwashing, social distancing, etc. are being conducted by the support team. Frequently touched surfaces such as door handles, benches, classroom surfaces, etc. are being sanitised regularly.
During lunch breaks special measures have been introduced to ensure students maintain social distance at all times. Regent has partnered with Keita, a corporate and event catering company, to provide safe and healthy food options to students. In addition to this, the school has launched a COVID-19 webpage which details all guidelines and measures.
To ensure there’s no disruption to the academic cycle, Regent has extended its virtual learning options to students who wish to continue their classes from home. For students opting for regular classes, they will be screened and their temperatures checked while they enter the school premises. Physical Education classes will be active and only the swimming pool will be shut. As per the guidelines from the government, the school will ensure masks are worn by students and staff members at all times, even while performing light –moderate exercises. If students are taking part in vigorous exercises, they have an option to lower their mask or remove them, but they will have to maintain 2 meters of distance at all times. Alternate activities are being facilitated for students with / without masks and to those who wish to undertake different levels of exercises. Cleaning schedules have been created to sanitise all sports equipment’s and facilities.
Even during these unprecedented times, the school has been able to absorb new enrollments in all the class years. School tours are active with all safety protocols in place. The Admissions Team has been receiving innumerable enquiries for admissions and school tours.
The school will continue to work closely with the Health authorities and KHDA to ensure it provides a safe learning atmosphere to all its students.
