Llanfawr is a county primary school, opened in 1957. It is a bilingual, co-educational school set in one of the most welcoming parts of Holyhead. It has amazing views over the Port of Holyhead and the surrounding area. On a clear day it is possible to see the summit of Snowdon.

These early years are so important and crucial in a young child `s life as a child needs much help and support. Here at Ysgol Llanfawr, we are proud to be a close knit community: a warm and friendly atmosphere is created as a result of the respect we show each other. We are very proud of our young people both past and present and it is pleasing to note that these young people are equally proud of their school. Our aim is to prepare our pupils for the transition into secondary education and provide the initial skills to inspire future generations of young adults.

It is a school where pupils feel safe, respected and valued. It is a warm and friendly school, which provides a happy secure environment where pupils are keen to learn. There are very good relationships at all levels. The Head teacher and staff are committed and hardworking.
